OOTDs Shopping day!

Hey there!!!!

On Monday my friend Eirini (Mind the g-UP! UpFm)  left for uni so I won't see her for a few months and we decided to go for a walk around the shops in the  morning. She wanted to buy a concealer and a face cream and we went to our friend's pharmacy to get them.

\

The cream she got is the Moisturising Cream-Gel for oily to combination skin from Korres. It smells like pomegranate and she has been using it for quite some time now. I got some free samples from it so I am excited to try it out too! She also got a Wild Rose concealer from Korres which she hadn't tried before but our friend's mom (who owns the pharmacy) said it's good.

I am glad they let me take their photos for the blog and I also got to browse around and take photos of other hair and skincare products.

So after that we got our friend Pantelis with us (he had finished work) and went for a walk. Since they were in a good mood they let me take photos of their outfits for my blog too! yay! :)

Eirini's outfit:
Dress: Attrativo
Bag: Accessorize
Glasses: Ray Ban
Shoes: handmade
Bracelet: handmade

Eirini's style is very laidback and casual. She likes to be comfortable and wears bright fun colours. If I didn't know her she would immediately strike me as a fun outgoing person which she is. :)

My outfit:
Top: Stradivarius
Skirt: New Look
Bag: local shop
Glasses: Ralph Lauren
Watch: Tally Weijl
Earrings: H&M
Shoes: Migato
(cheeky purchase: MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium Plus)

My outfit unlike Eirini's was more on the dressed up side. I like skirts that show off my waist instead of something more flowy and I prefer an outfit that is more dressed up so I can take it from day to night simply by changing shoes and putting some more makeup on.

Pantelis' Outfit:
Top: Bakalakos
Jeans: Pixel
Shoes: Adidas

Guys on the other hand have it easy.... They just put on a pair of jeans and a top and they're done... lol Ok that is not entirely true but we still make more effort getting ready in the morning. ;) I do like his top very much though. The union flag has been a very popular pattern for clothes lately and I love it!

We ended the day with a nice ice cream and went home. :) What do you wear when you go shopping?

Love,
Kristine

Nail Illusion! Make Your Nails Look Shorter!

Hey there!!!!

I must admit I have a soft spot for long nails. But not everyone agrees with me and sometimes people think my nails are a bit too long. So here's a little trick to make people think your nails are shorter than they really are.

First of all you paint your nails with a light colour. Then with a darker polish you make a line as if you were doing a french manicure, but instead of painting the tip you paint where the white part of your nail begins.

The polishes I used here are a neon pink from Beauty Line which is a greek company and Coat Azure by Essie.

What this line will do is create the illusion of a boundary where the dark polish is ad from a distance it will look like your nails end at that length. Of course if someone looks closer they will see where the real tip is but the brain will register the dark line as a line and will not completely grasp the width of it as nail surface unless someone really focuses on it for a while which is not very likely.

I like this tip to make my nails look less dangerous to people but still keep them nice and long. (although now I'll be packing and moving I'll have to cut them). I suggest trying this out and even if you don't manage to fool people it is still a cute and easy manicure that will look adorable all year round with different colour combinations

Aslso here's a cheeky toe pic because I painted them to match and made a little flower from five dots. :)

I hope you liked this design and please tell me if you try it out!

Love,
Kristine ^_^

Neon Nail Polish!

Hello there!

It's the middle of August and I have given in to the trend that is everywhere in Crete, neon nails! So I bought a neon orange and a neon pink and have been wearing them all the time!!

The company is called Beauty Line and it's one of the cheaper ones here but the quality is quite good. I've had around 10 of their polishes throughout my nail painting life and only one was not that good and chipped. Stick to the ones with creamy or pearly consistency and you'll have a great nail polish!

I like wearing those two neons together, alternating nails or painting one nail in a different colour like I've done here. It makes your nails pop in every outfit and neons generally make your skin look tanned.

Here's the orange on its own under a normal yellow toned lamp at night.

And for all you club goers guess what..... Neons glow in black light! Isn't this the coolest thing ever? The blue light you see is not any weird editing but the black light in the club I go and this is how my nails look in there! I love it!

And some cheeky glowy toes!

If this doesn't scream summer I don't know what does... Actually I think it screams party in general but because student life is supposed to have lots of reading *coughyeahrightcough* and summer is the time to party neon polishes are a perfect little touch. I would suggest everyone should add at least one (the orange is the coolest) in their collection and make those nails glow!

I should be going now... More parties to go to.. ;)

Kristine

Olympic Nail Art! London 2012!

Hello!

Are you guys watching the Olympics? Me not really. To be honest the only sport that I'll sit and watch is football and that only if it's Chelsea or Barca playing. In the Olympics I like watching the opening and closing ceremonies purely for the spectacle but the actual games are somewhat in the back of my head as something I should probably watch but I most likely won't. However, what I do is read articles about them and learn who won and stuff. What I noticed this year though was the huge amount of articles about the athletes' nails. Apparently lots of them decided to rock patriotic tips and give a perfect finishing touch to their medals. So I went through several of these articles and now I'm showing you the best manicures I've found. (all the photographs belong to their rightful owners)

Aren't those nails amazing??? I love them! And I think it's a good statement for women in the Olympics showing that they are still feminine even if they are probably strong enough to kick your @$$...  joke...
Maybe I should paint some random flags on my nails some time...
