OOTN: Ministry of Sound

I was thinking, one of the most fun parts of a night out is dressing up for it. And I know I usually want to go for the standard dress and heels, but sometimes I prefer trying sth different, for the sake of keeping things interesting and giving my feet a break. So I picked this outfit because it is comfortable but still looks quite nice.

Top: Stradivarius
(but any white tank top will be exactly the same)
Waistcoat: Primark
Shorts: Stradivarius
(again any black shorts will do)
Tights: Primark
Shoes: Primark
(the same spiked flats from the previous posts because I do wear them all the time!)
Hairband: Primark
(spikes will make any outfit edgy)
Necklace: Spitalfields market
(fob watches are cool! and I love them!)

As for my makeup, I've starting doing sth different than usual and apparently it looks good (people have told me so). So instead of using eyeshadow, as I normally would, I just lined my eyes making sure I created a bold line and I left my lips nude to keep the attention to my eyes. I also used some blush to add a hint of colour to my face.

Foundation: MaxFactor Ageless Elixir
Concealer: MAC Studio Finish in NW20
Eyeliner: Collection Glam Crystal Gel Liner in Rock Chick
Mascara: Maybelline The Falsies (I don't like it but I wanted to finish it)
Blush: Sleek in Pomegranate
Lipstick: MAC Cremesheen in Innocence Beware
Lipgloss: Benefit Ultra Shine in Nudie-Tude

Let me know what you think and if you'd wear this for a night out. :)

Spring 2013 PRIMARK Collection - Wishlist!

Heeeeey there!

Enjoying the snow? I was. But then I got ill because I went out a lot. And I must admit that after making a snowman I am kinda looking forward to spring. And spring means new clothes collections in the stores and nice shopping trips with your girlfriends.

So today I came across the new PRIMARK collection online and I decided to show you what I have my eye on so when it hits the store I'll know what to go get.

A striped morning dress is lately becoming a basic. You can use it to create navy inspired outfits or simply pair it with a solid coloured blazer and a nice statement necklace for a quick but stylish outfit.
The second dress I think can be dressed up or down according to the accessories you choose. The simplest way to dress is down is with a cardigan, flats and an oversized bag, while a pair of heels, a small clutch and some gold jewellery would have you ready for a night out in no time.
As for the last dress, think formal event. During the day chose nude heels and at night go for a bold contrast; neon yellow would be a good one.

I've been loving shirts in the past year or so. They can be a dressy alternative to jeans and a plain t-shirt but equally easy to wear every day. Collar details, interesting buttons and printed patterns do all the work and create an amazing outfit without you having to worry at all. Please keep in mind that if the shirt is sheer you should wear a tank op underneath. You don't want to have all the goods on show...

White tops:
Over jeans, tucked into a high waisted skirt, with colourful shorts, basically white tops go with everything and you need to have some at all times. Again studs, chains and fringes add an extra flair to your outfit and especially in the ones above even allow you not to bother with accessories...ok maybe add a bracelet or a ring (I do love my accessories).

A black leather jacket is a must in a wardrobe. A white one is optional. But you can make it work. Especially if you dress in light and bright colours in spring and summer it's a good way to work the leather jacket look without having to wear something black which is going to give your outfit a rocker vibe that you were not going for.
A navy skirt can be paired with lots of things, the white shirt above would be the best option here. The tiny hearts create a polka dot effect and the contrasting belt will make your waist appear smaller. Cute!
As for the jumper, it may be spring but it still gets cold! The colour is super girly and the shoulder studs make it edgy. You can keep it for next winter too (yes if something looks good on you and keeps you warm you should wear it the next season too! you will still look beautiful in it!)!

If you want to see the rest of the items in this upcoming collection follow this link, which will get you to In Style where I got the images from. Let me know if you'd pick the same things as I want to and let's all wait together for when the collection comes out!

Glitter Overload!

Hey there! Happy New Year!

I thought I'd show you the manicure I did for NYE. I have loads of glitter polishes but I wanted something chunkier that would look really bold. I also wanted to test if using actual craft glitter would work on my nails. The result is this!

The colour I used as a base is MaxFactor Nailfinity in Dusky Rose, but you can of course use anything you want. I painted the first coat, let it it dry and painted a second one. When the second coat was starting to dry, but was still a bit sticky, I dipped my nails in the glitter tube for a few seconds. This way they wouldn't be entirely covered in glitter, so you could still see the base colour. Then I pressed lightly with my fingers to make sure the glitter would stick properly and put some top coat over it to seal it in.

I really like how they turned out because it was something different, but I know some people didn't so I guess it is a love it or hate it kind of thing. I will definitely try it again, probably with a darker base to create more contrast. For me it's a nice and quick party manicure so I'm happy I found out how to do it. It also had a pretty good staying power, as none of the glitter came off at all, until one nail chipped when I was doing dishes 4 days later, because I had my fingers in hot water for a long time. Typical...

Let me know what you think of this manicure and if you are tempted to try it.
