Nail Illusion! Make Your Nails Look Shorter!

Hey there!!!!

I must admit I have a soft spot for long nails. But not everyone agrees with me and sometimes people think my nails are a bit too long. So here's a little trick to make people think your nails are shorter than they really are.

First of all you paint your nails with a light colour. Then with a darker polish you make a line as if you were doing a french manicure, but instead of painting the tip you paint where the white part of your nail begins.

The polishes I used here are a neon pink from Beauty Line which is a greek company and Coat Azure by Essie.

What this line will do is create the illusion of a boundary where the dark polish is ad from a distance it will look like your nails end at that length. Of course if someone looks closer they will see where the real tip is but the brain will register the dark line as a line and will not completely grasp the width of it as nail surface unless someone really focuses on it for a while which is not very likely.

I like this tip to make my nails look less dangerous to people but still keep them nice and long. (although now I'll be packing and moving I'll have to cut them). I suggest trying this out and even if you don't manage to fool people it is still a cute and easy manicure that will look adorable all year round with different colour combinations

Aslso here's a cheeky toe pic because I painted them to match and made a little flower from five dots. :)

I hope you liked this design and please tell me if you try it out!

Love,
Kristine ^_^

Neon Nail Polish!

Hello there!

It's the middle of August and I have given in to the trend that is everywhere in Crete, neon nails! So I bought a neon orange and a neon pink and have been wearing them all the time!!

The company is called Beauty Line and it's one of the cheaper ones here but the quality is quite good. I've had around 10 of their polishes throughout my nail painting life and only one was not that good and chipped. Stick to the ones with creamy or pearly consistency and you'll have a great nail polish!

I like wearing those two neons together, alternating nails or painting one nail in a different colour like I've done here. It makes your nails pop in every outfit and neons generally make your skin look tanned.

Here's the orange on its own under a normal yellow toned lamp at night.

And for all you club goers guess what..... Neons glow in black light! Isn't this the coolest thing ever? The blue light you see is not any weird editing but the black light in the club I go and this is how my nails look in there! I love it!

And some cheeky glowy toes!

If this doesn't scream summer I don't know what does... Actually I think it screams party in general but because student life is supposed to have lots of reading *coughyeahrightcough* and summer is the time to party neon polishes are a perfect little touch. I would suggest everyone should add at least one (the orange is the coolest) in their collection and make those nails glow!

I should be going now... More parties to go to.. ;)

Kristine

Olympic Nail Art! London 2012!

Hello!

Are you guys watching the Olympics? Me not really. To be honest the only sport that I'll sit and watch is football and that only if it's Chelsea or Barca playing. In the Olympics I like watching the opening and closing ceremonies purely for the spectacle but the actual games are somewhat in the back of my head as something I should probably watch but I most likely won't. However, what I do is read articles about them and learn who won and stuff. What I noticed this year though was the huge amount of articles about the athletes' nails. Apparently lots of them decided to rock patriotic tips and give a perfect finishing touch to their medals. So I went through several of these articles and now I'm showing you the best manicures I've found. (all the photographs belong to their rightful owners)

Maybe I should paint some random flags on my nails some time...

OPI: The Show Must Go On!

Hello there!

Yes. The show must go on indeed. Even if this nail polish was not incredibly beautiful on its own I think the name would have probably sold it to me. And I know that this is from the Burlesque collection (which is 2 years old so you will probably not find it unless your Sephora too is ridiculously random at what it stocks) but I keep thinking Queen when I hear the title.

So, the polish itself is a beautiful metallic red colour with a gold and magenta duochrome effect according to the lighting. That's why I had to take lots of photos so I could show you as best as I could how pretty it is!

The finish reminded me of hammered metal as it was not smooth or glossy (it could be because my topcoat is starting to dry out) but I decided I liked it because it's a metallic colour and it's unusual (you know how I love being different that the normal).

I also decided to add some nail stickers on my thumb and ring finger to make the look a bit more girly and fun. Nail stickers are an easy way to glam up your manicure if you are not confident with nail art or you are in a hurry.

I can totally see why this colour was in a holiday collection as it reminds me of wrapping paper and ribbons and presents. As much as I find it gorgeous I think I may save it for special occasions and parties and opt for my staple creamy red (Berry Love by H&M) for the rest of summer.

Btw.. I know I said the show must go on but the show tonight (the Olympics opening ceremony) just ended and I just have to say.. how amazing was that? I loved it so much!

Ok, back to the point. I hope you liked this manicure and I'll see you on my next post!

Love,
Kristine
